Small red fruits, rich in vitamins and antioxidants – one of my superfoods! Dried goji berries are usually available in stores, but many people grow goji berry bushes in their gardens and fresh berries can be found at this time of year. I often include dried fruits in our daily menu – I add them to sweets and cakes, make tea and include them in mixes with other dried fruits and raw nuts. I usually add fresh fruit to smoothies.

Fresh goji berries do not have a pronounced taste and aroma, which is why they can be safely combined with other ingredients. I combine them with sweet aromatic pears, which do not change the color of the mixture. Sesame tahini adds thickness and butteriness to the mixture, and the light aroma of toasted sesame seeds accentuates the aroma of pears. In a balanced vegan gluten-free diet, the ratio of protein to carbohydrate intake on a daily basis is important, which is why on our strength training days I add protein powder to smoothies or shakes for breakfast. I mainly use rice and pea protein isolate because they don’t have a strong aroma and taste – they blend easily without dominating the mix.
The protein smoothie “Autumn Sun” has a pleasant fruity taste and slight sweetness, with the aroma of pears and roasted sesame seeds – a healthy vegan gluten-free drink!
